Help Norman Walk Pain Free

NORMAN KNEEDS OUR HELP!

Norman recently came into our care at the Fredericton SPCA with a painful condition called luxating patella— his kneecaps slip in and out, causing him discomfort that will only worsen without medical intervention.

After speaking with veterinary professionals, the best course of action is surgery. The cost estimate as it stands right now, will be a minimum of $7,000 for both knees. We are working towards gathering more information what is needed not only for surgery, but for his recovery plan too. This is where we need your help!

We’re looking for donations—whether it’s monetary or items like gift cards or products for raffle baskets. Every bit helps!

ABOUT NORMAN:

Norman came into our care recently as a stray that was hanging around the Devon Middle School area. We estimate him to be around one year old, and he is a sweet boy. Shortly after his intake, we noticed he was walking strangely – He had an unexplained limp. Norman was quickly seen by a vet and was diagnosed with luxating patella in both of his knees. His left knee is much worse than his right. This means when walking, his knee caps slide too easily out of joint and cause discomfort and an abnormal gait. This puts stress on his other joints and can cause other damage to other parts of his body. Without human or medical intervention, Norman has a very hard and uncomfortable life ahead of him.

Norman’s surgery funds are collected under our Tiny’s Medical Fund, which was established over a decade ago to help with medical expenses for animals that are in need. After the completion of surgery and recovery, any remaining funds will go back into Tiny’s Medical Fund for the next animal in need.
